Add to Speed Dial redesign & reconcept
The goal of this project is to improve and optimize the experience of adding speed dials through the start page of Opera Android browser.

Solution alternatives
After a brainstorming session and competitor benchmarking, we developed the main concept of improving the speed dial adding experience by providing suggestions instead of starting with a blank input field. Some ideas:
Offer a catalog-based website list, including partner sites.
Provide a website list that is more tailored to the user's preferences:
"Suggested for you" section, featuring main partner sites.
User's most frequently visited sites.
User's recent search history.
Opera browser tools (e.g., bookmarks, offline pages).
Background & objective
The number of users adding speed dials through the + button on the browser homepage is significantly lower (28k), approximately 1/3 of those adding speed dials through the menu page (101k). Thus, internally, there is an initiative to improve and optimize the experience of adding speed dials through the + button.
Objective: Increasing the percentage of users using the + button to add speed dials, surpassing the number of users adding speed dials through the menu page.
User & business values
User values: Improving the efficiency of adding one or multiple websites to the user's speed dial, thus enhancing the users’ browsing experience.
Business values:
A more convenient and efficient process for adding speed dials can increase usage frequency, user engagement, and retention.
Monetization opportunity by leading users to higher exposure partner brands, leading to increased revenue.
Output & result
A catalog-based speed dial adding page consisting of sections for potential websites that users may add as speed dials:
Popular sites or main partner sites.
Site categories.
User's frequently visited sites.
Opera browser tools.
User's bookmarks.
Result: A more than twofold increase in the number of daily added speed dials (from 25K to 60K).
